THIS WEEK'S POWER MOVE:

Set up what I call a "Digital Boundary Box" with your kids. Grab an actual physical box, and at 7:30pm (or whatever time works for your family), everyone - parents included - puts their devices in it. My 2-year-old now points at my phone and says "box time" when she wants my attention. Nothing hits harder than getting called out by a toddler!

I tried this last Tuesday when I couldn't stop checking work emails. My wife took a picture of me dramatically placing my phone in the box while my daughters cheered. That photo now lives on our fridge as a daily reminder.

Family AI Challenge of the Week: With ChatGPT's new Study Mode, have each family member ask it one question about a topic they're curious about, but frame it as "Help me learn about..." rather than just asking for facts. Compare answers and talk about what you learned together. My 7-year-old asked about why cats purr, and we ended up in a 20-minute conversation about animal communication. Anna and Elsa (our cats) seemed particularly interested in this discussion!
